Networking lands Karen in prison.The State of Colorado hired Karen to design a performance appraisal training program. She crisscrossed the state giving more than 140 workshops in five months in prisons, arsenals and colleges. When paralyzing Guillain-Barre Syndrome kept Karen hospitalized for months, she tested her humor, life balance, stress management and schmoozing skills to help herself and other patients. Nurses would prop Karen up in a wheelchair and push her into patients' rooms to get them to laugh, relax, communicate and heal. Hey!This stuff works! One thing Karen had to learn was to speak again. Rather important for a public speaker. But, her real love is dancing. Karen was just born to boogie. So after the first time she went dancing, she returned to rehab to motivate patients and staff and to show them her best moves. Janet Jackson watch out.
